Little Penguins have a very small range in the temperate waters of New Zealand and Southern Australia. They are the smallest of the penguins nesting in burrows on rocky islands or cliffs. The forage on pelagic schooling fish by pursuit diving being adept at underwater 'flight'. I worked with Auckland University PhD candidate JingJing Zhang on her field work at Burgess Island.
